Food, Facebook, and fun new businesses around the state

I was on an interview panel in in Ontario, Oregon a couple of weeks ago. The day after this event occurred, in fact:

Wendy’s restaurant in Ontario was destroyed by a fire on July 20. The owners plan to rebuild. Argus Observer, 7-21-10

The next announcement is a continuation of past posts on the blog:

Facebook will add 160,000 square feet to the size of its data center that is under construction in Prineville. The first phase should be finished early next year, and the second phase will be completed in 2012. The Oregonian, 8-3-10

Finally, here's a few announcements that I like... just because:

Cinetopia movie theater will open at the Progress Ridge TownSquare in Beaverton in the summer of 2011 and New Seasons Market will open in September 2011. The Oregonian, 7-28-10

Tangled Ends Hair Academy, a hair design school, opened in Keizer. Statesman Journal, 7-23-10

ZoomCare, an open access scheduling healthcare clinic, opened in Portland’s Sellwood neighborhood. The Bee, 8-3-10

Oregon Coast Glassworks opened a studio in Newport. It employs two people. News-Times, 7-28-10
