More Delivery News

In a recent post we discussed online retailer Amazon's deal with the United States Postal Service for Sunday delivery. Now Amazon is making news again, this time with its Prime Air drone delivery.

According to an article from the Los Angeles Times, Amazon introduced the delivery-by-drone concept on the CBS program "60 minutes" this weekend, saying that the service would be available for packages that weigh five pounds or less. While Amazon expects that unmanned aerial vehicle delivery won't be available for at least a few years, the company does believe that domestic package delivery via drone will be as normal as delivery trucks are to us today.

You can find more details in the Los Angeles Times article, including a video clip demonstrating a purchased Amazon item being dropped from a conveyor belt into a drone, then flying off and dropping the package at the customer's address.
