Future Business Impacts Around the State

The business news that caught our attention this week include large facilities that will open over the next couple of years:
  • The Northwest National Marine Renewable Center at Oregon State University chose Newport as the future site for the Pacific Marine Energy Center, a $25-million wave energy research test site. News-Times, 1/15/2013 
  • Sisters-based GFP Emergency Services, which provides remote base camp services and installation, will open a production facility in Prineville. It will employ 20 to 40 workers, including electricians, plumbers, welders, framers, and insulators. Central Oregonian, 12/28/2012 
  • Construction could begin in March on a four-story, 80-room Fairfield Inn and Suites in The Dalles. When competed in 10 to 12 months, it is expected to employ 25 full-time and four part-time workers. Columbia River Gorge Business Review, 12/13/2012
