Holiday and Other Hiring Around the State



Several large companies recently announced holiday hiring plans:
  • First Call Resolution plans to hire 500 temporary holiday workers for its Coos Bay, Grants Pass, and Roseburg call centers. In Coos Bay, it plans to add 160 people in October and November. Some of the positions will become permanent. The World, 9/22/2012  
  •  Toys R' Us will hire 400 seasonal employees in Oregon for the holiday season. In the Portland area, 300 seasonal workers will be helping out in the toy retailer's 10 stores. The Oregonian, 9/25/2012 
A few other businesses also shared hiring news:
  • New Seasons Market will open at Grant Park Village, a mixed-use development in northeast Portland's Hollywood District, in 2014. It will employ 150 people. Portland Business Journal, 9/19/2012 
  • Columbia Basin Onion, LLC, opened in Hermiston. The 66,000-square-foot, fresh-pack onion facility employs about 40 people. East Oregonian, 9/16/2012 
  • Grace Bio-Labs Inc. in Bend is expanding and will add 11 to 15 workers within the next year. The Bulletin, 9/14/2012
  •  Northwest Aluminum Trailers opened in Roseburg. It specializes in making boat and motorcycle trailers. It employs three people and plans to add a couple more in the future. The News-Review, 9/2/2012
