A Snapshot of Oregon in 2011

Each year the U.S. Census Bureau collects, compiles, and publishes the most thorough demographic portrait of the U.S. that's available. The American Community Survey 1-year estimates for 2011 were released earlier this week. 

Here are a few highlights for Oregon:

Share of all Oregonians living below the poverty level in 2011

Average commute, in minutes, for Oregon workers

The share of those 16 years and older in Oregon who were employed in management, business, science, and arts

The median household income in Oregon

The state's civilian labor force in 2011
