What's Happening Around the State?

Well, quite a few exciting things! Here are a few highlights:

Oregon Resources Corp. will begin processing sand from its Seven Devils mine at its Bunker Hill chromite processing plant this week. It employs 41 production and six administrative workers. WestCoast Resources, the company doing the actual mining, employs four equipment operators and a watchman. The World, 4/21/2011

Sapa Extrusions will bring up to 100 jobs to Vancouver by expanding its operations to the Port of Vancouver. The jobs will be a combination of new positions and existing ones that will be relocated from its Portland and British Columbia facilities. The Columbian, 4/25/2011

Walmart in Newport is adding 14,000 square feet to its store. It expects to add 85 workers. News-Times, 4/27/2011
