2009 American Community Survey data available!

Today the U.S. Census Bureau released the 2009 American Community Survey (ACS) data. These estimates give us invaluable demographic and worker information in between each decennial Census. Needless to say, we use ACS frequently, and we're excited to have new data to share with you.

A sampling of 2009 ACS fun facts about Oregon:

The number of Oregonians covered by employer-provided health insurance

The number of occupied housing units

Median household income for 2009

The median age of our population

Percent of Oregon's population 25 years and older with a bachelor's or advanced degree

Percent of workers 16 years and older whose commute time to work is less than 10 minutes

For more information about the American Community Survey - or to find your own fun stats about any state or county with population 65,000 or more - visit the ACS page on the Census Bureau's website (
