It happens all over the state...

Our weekly Around the State report highlights some of the latest business happenings all over Oregon. Events include new openings and business expansions, as well as layoffs and closures.

This week, we saw a range announcements. For instance...

ShoreBank Enterprise Cascadia in Astoria moved to a larger office and added five employees. Daily Astorian, 6-24-10

• California-based Telemark Corp., which makes coating equipment and components, plans to relocate its manufacturing operations to the Battle Ground Corporate Center in September. It will employ 15 people, and may expand to 50. The Columbian, 6-15-10

• The City of Baker City eliminated its community and economic development department. Two employees were laid off. Baker City Herald, 6-25-10

Staccato at the Firehall restaurant in Bend closed. Bend Bulletin, 6-18-10

Abercrombie & Fitch at Valley River Center in Eugene will close and Victoria’s Secret will open in its spot. Register-Guard, 6-24-10

The Yellow Cupboard, an arts and craft supply store, opened in Ashland. It also offers classes and workshops. Medford Mail Tribune, 6-24-10

Green Lightning Laundry will open in North Bend. The World, 6-5-10
