Business changes from border to border...to border...

This week's report of business changes around the state contained news from all areas, including:

The High Wheeler restaurant opened in Astoria. It offers pancakes, burgers, and pasta. Coast River Business Journal, 3-1-10

Skidro Leathers in Tri City closed. The News-Review, 2-14-10

10 Barrel Brewing Co. opened in Bend. It employs about 25 people. Bend Bulletin, 2-24-10

Thatcher’s Ace Hardware will open a store in La Grande. It will employ 15 people. Baker City Herald, 2-19-10

The Vancouver Clinic began construction of a $12-million medical office building in Battle Ground. Expected to open this fall, it will house family practice, physical therapy, urgent care, pediatrics, internal medicine, and ob-gyn departments. The Columbian, 2-18-10

• The Eugene Register-Guard laid off 14 employees and froze five open positions. Portland Business Journal, 2-26-10
