Oracle is Bringing Jobs Back to Oregon

Oracle announced plans to bring jobs back to Oregon in a statement released today. The news was shared at a press conference from Oracle's Hillsboro site, where the company discussed the return of 130 manufacturing and assembly jobs from Mexico. Oracle also said it would retain 300 other jobs at their four Oregon facilities.

The company received about $1.4 million in state incentives, which may turn into grants if certain salary benchmarks are met. Seventy-eight of the jobs need to pay at least 150 percent of Oregon's average wage, which translates to about $60,000 per year. The Oregonian reports that some of these jobs will require advanced engineering degrees, but others will only need assembly skills. You can get more details in the full article.
