New Firms Offer Variety of Services Around the State

This week's openings include a wide variety of openings and expansions around the state!

Openings and expansions:
  • NW Raw, offering fresh pressed juices, opened in Ashland. KDRV, 3/19/2014
  • Gtano's Nuevo Latin Cuisine opened at the Town Center Plaza in Grants Pass. Grants Pass Daily Courier, 3/16/2014
  • Choose Growth, a Portland-based media company, will open an office in Bend next month. The Oregonian, 3/14/2014
  • St. Charles Health Care will open a medical office in Redmond this fall to accommodate its expanding women's center. The Oregonian, 3/14/2014
  • Portland Public Schools plans to add about 180 employees next year, of which 150 will be teachers. KATU, 3/18/2014
  • Airbnb, a San Francisco-based vacation rental startup, plans to open its North American operational headquarters in Old Town Chinatown in Portland this summer. It will employ 160 people. The Oregonian, 3/14/2014

Closings and relocation:
  • Southern Oregon University in Ashland will eliminate the equivalent of more than 80 positions by 2018 through layoffs and retirements. Ashland Daily Tidings, 3/15/2014
  • Kuebler's Furniture in Roseburg closed. The News-Review, 3/17/2014
  • La Capitale Brasserie in downtown Salem will close. It will reopen as Tablefive08 in June. Statesman Journal, 3/11/2014
