Fast Facts on Oregon Employment

Oregon continued to see employment growth in December.  Here are a few key numbers from the final month of 2013:
  • Benton County (5.3%) posted the lowest seasonally adjusted county-level unemployment rate in December, while Harney County (11.6%) had the highest rate. 
  • Oregon had about 29,000 fewer unemployed persons in December 2013 than in December 2012.
  • The Bend and Medford metropolitan areas experienced the fastest year-over-year job growth among Oregon metro areas in December, each with a growth rate of 2.7 percent. Both Bend and Medford metro areas outpaced the statewide growth rate of 2.1 percent.
