Oregon Business Announcements

This week's business opening and expansion announcements include a new methanol manufacturing facility and expansions for a casting manufacturer.

Openings and expansions:
  • WCT Marine and Construction boatyard opened in Astoria. It employs about seven people and plans to hire more. The Daily Astorian, 1/23/2014
  • NW Innovation Works LLC plans to build a methanol manufacturing facility at the Port Westward industrial park north of Clatskanie. It will export methanol directly to the city government of Dalian, China for use in plastics manufacturing and expects to employ about 120 workers. The South County Spotlight, 1/22/2014
  • Hola!, a Mexican-Peruvian-themed restaurant, opened a location in Redmond. It employs about 15 people. The Bulletin, 1/24/2014
  • Old Dominion Freight Line, a nationwide trucking company, opened a service center in Redmond. The Bulletin, 1/23/2014
  • Precision Castparts, a manufacturer of castings for aircraft and other industrial products, plans to add 25 employees at its Redmond facility. The Bulletin, 1/24/2014 
  • Lone Pine CafĂ© will open in Baker City. Baker City Herald, 1/1/2014
  • Trailhead Credit Union opened in a branch in north Portland. Portland Business Journal, 1/23/2014
  • Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin opened The Chest Pain Center. Wilsonville Spokesman, 1/22/2014
Closings:
  • Garibaldi Muffler and Service Center will close next month. Headlight-Herald, 1/22/2014
  • Organic Nation, a producer of vodka and gin in Ashland, closed. Mail Tribune, 1/24/2014
  • Imagine Group, a graphics and photography firm in Eugene, will close. It employs eight people. The Register-Guard, 1/18/2014
