- Nehalem Beehive, a tea and coffee bar, opened in Nehalem.

- Happy Dragon Famous Chinese Cuisine opened in Independence.

- Christopher David Experience opened in downtown
Portland. It offers furniture, flowers, interior design services, and a

Unfortunately, the announcements include a couple layoffs and closures:
- Tasty Bake Inc., a Baker City company that
makes pizza crusts, laid off a large number of employees. The workforce reduction
was related to a local cryptosporidium outbreak that caused a significant loss

- As many as two dozen employees were laid off at Heinz

- The Anderson Place Market Place in Roseburg closed.
