Now Hiring: The Oregon State Fair and Central Oregon Organizations

A pair of regional stories on hiring efforts caught our attention today.

The first comes from the Statesman Journal. The hiring process has started for the Oregon State Fair. Forget the days of standing in line -- especially in this heat -- at a hiring trailer for a state fair position. Now, the hiring process starts online. Manpower, a temporary agency, is taking applications for a variety of positions, from ticket takers to barn crew members and administrative assistants. The Oregon Employment Department will be listing jobs for state fair contractors and vendors, with positions such as food concessions, carnival ride operators, and concert security workers. More information can be found on the Manpower and WorkSource Oregon sites, or in the Statesman Journal article.

The second story, from The Bulletin, reports that two Bend-area agencies are looking to hire and train young adults for construction and clean energy positions. According to the article, "Bend-area Habitat for Humanity and the Heart of Oregon Corps are looking for eight Clean Energy Service AmeriCorps crew members ages 18-24 to work on weatherization and construction sites alongside construction professionals and volunteers." You can find more details in the full story.
