We're Thankful for Business Openings Around the State!

This Thanksgiving holiday week, we're thankful that the latest issue of Around the State business announcements includes these openings:
  • Aero Air, a Hillsboro aviation company, will take over Redmond-based Butler Aircraft Co.'s hangar lease at the Madras Municipal Airport and use it as a base of operations for aerial firefighting. Thirty-six to 60 mechanic jobs could be added as it gets ready for next year's fire season. The lease runs through 2015, but can be extended until 2030. The Bulletin, 11/14/2012  
  • Orchard Supply Hardware Stores, a California chain, will open stores in southwest Portland and Tigard in mid-2013. Each store will employ about 100 people. Portland Business Journal, 11/14/2012 
  • The Tutoring Center opened in Salem. It provides individualized instruction in subjects such as reading, writing, math, algebra, and geometry for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Statesman Journal, 11/1/2012

  • Carte' Jewelers and Gems opened in Grants Pass. Grants Pass Daily Courier, 11/10/2012  
  • Prineville Kids Stop, a children's clothing store, opened in Prineville. Central Oregonian, 11/6/2012 
  • Unplugged Games opened in southeast Portland. The Bee, 11/1/2012
