Goods for Kids, Exercise Options, and Other Happenings Around the State

This week's collection of business news contains a few interesting themes. The first is clothing, toys, and other related shops:
  • Kid 'N' Around, a children's clothing store, opened in Newport. News-Times, 9/12/2012
  •  Oodles 4 Kids, a toy store, opened in southeast Portland. The Oregonian, 9/16/2012
  •  Inflatable Fun Gym opened in Hermiston. The Hermiston Herald, 9/8/2012
  •  Party Masters opened in The Dalles. It offers circus school, bouncy houses, and foam parties. Columbia River Gorge Business Review, 9/8/2012
Another theme was yoga studios:
  • Mandala Yoga opened in southeast Portland. Neighborhood Notes, 9/3/2012
  • Vital Current Yoga opened in Port Orford. Curry County Reporter, 9/6/2012
There were also several big announcements on the widespread closing of restaurant franchises, grocery stores, and clothing chains:
  • The Romano's Macaroni Grill franchises in Clackamas, Hillsboro, Tigard, and downtown Portland closed. The Oregonian, 9/14/2012
  • Two Save-A-Lot stores in Portland closed and stores in Cottage Grove, Lebanon, Springfield, The Dalles, and Salem will close by December. The Oregonian, 9/18/2012 
  • Women's clothing retailer Fashion Bug, with stores located in Hillsboro, Gresham, Milwaukie, McMinnville, Salem, Eugene, Springfield, and Grants Pass, and 600 nationwide, will shutter all of its stores within months. The Oregonian, 9/12/2012
