One was new home goods repair shops:

• Stayton Computers, a computer repair shop, opened. The Stayton Mail, 7/24/2012

• Cyrano's, a book restoration business, opened in Corvallis. Corvallis Gazette-Times, 7/20/2012

Another was new gardening centers:

• Green Gear Indoor Garden and Hydroponics opened in Molalla. Molalla Pioneer, 7/18/2012

• Ground Up Organics, a gardening store, opened in St. Helens. It employs two people. The Chronicle, 7/11/2012

 A third included hotel reopenings:

• The Idleyld Lodge reopened in Idleyld Park. It has four rooms, a gift shop, and a restaurant. The News-Review, 7/29/2012

• Historic Union Hotel in Union, which had been closed since December, will reopen under new ownership. The Observer, 7/4/2012
