New Tech Businesses Around the State

This week there are several business announcements in our Around the State publication related to high-tech:

  • Feeney Wireless is expanding in Eugene. It makes routers and modems for mobile computer systems used in ambulances, taxis, police cars, and utility vehicles. It added 24 employees in the past three years and plans to add 12 to 25 people during the next two years. The Register-Guard, 4/22/2012
  • Apple will hire 35 full-time employees to work at its Prineville data center facility by next March. The Bulletin, 4/14/2012 
  • Eid Passport Inc., a Tigard company specializing in identity authentication and security technology for the military, private companies, and government agencies, is moving to Hillsboro this summer. It added 100 workers last year and plans to add 100 more this year. Portland Business Journal, 4/27/2012 

One tech-related company was not planning to add workers:

  • AT&T Mobility will close its downtown Portland call center this summer, eliminating 86 jobs. The Oregonian, 4/30/2012
