Happenings Around the State

There are a variety of business announcements in this week's edition of Around the State:

  • Medford will become a new home base for Horizon Air. In August, 117 pilots and flight crew members will be moved to Medford. It currently bases its flight crews in Seattle and Portland. Mail Tribune, 4/4/2012
  • Goodwill Industries of Columbia Willamette will build a new store in Redmond. The 25,000-square-foot store will open next spring and employ the 30 existing employees and another 10 to 15 people. The Bulletin, 3/29/2012

  • The Harney District Hospital board of directors voted to purchase the High Desert Medical Clinic in Burns. The clinic will become a provider-based rural health clinic, a designation which should help the clinic financially. Burns Times-Herald, 3/14/2012

  • Assurant Solutions, a provider of extended service contracts and protection programs, plans to add 125 workers at its call center in Albany. Portland Business Journal, 4/3/2012
  • K&R Custom Cleaning, a 24-hour cleaning service for commercial offices, retail businesses, bars, and restaurants opened. It serves clients in Rogue River and Grants Pass. Grants Pass Daily Courier, 3/17/2012
