
KDRV-TV reports that the cost of child care is rising in Oregon. The National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies cites Oregon as the seventh most expensive state of child care in the U.S. A new report about child care in the state finds that costs for care rose by 7 percent more than family incomes between 2004 and 2010. In addition, researchers found that the average minimum wage worker in Oregon spends almost 60 percent of their income on child care.
