The latest results from the Oregon Economic Index (created by Tim Duy of UO...go ducks!) was released earlier this month. The Oregonian gave a good summary of the results:

The Oregon Legislature enacted several new laws related to businesses during the 2010 special session. The Portland Business Journal (3/10/10) provides a quick look at these laws:

A recent article from the Medford Mail Tribune reports a drop in union membership statewide. Despite the decline in number, the overall percentage of union employees grew from 16.6 percent in 2008 to 17 percent in 2009. Oregon ranked 11th nationally in the rate of union membership. The article also provides historical union membership information: http://www.mailtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100319/BIZ/3190321
