New Businesses Opening Throughout the State

In this week's Around the State publication there were 16 business openings, 3 announcements of new businesses being constructed, and 4 closures or layoff announcements. Some of the businesses include:

Central Coast Child Care Development Center opened in Toledo. It can accommodate 74 children. News Times, 8-21-09

The Roseburg City Council passed an ordinance instituting changes that will allow Costcoto build a new store. It will include a 148,000-square-foot warehouse and a 16-pump gas station. It is expected to provide 150 to 200 jobs. The News-Review, 8-25-09

Bend-based InEnTec Chemical LLC – which converts hazardous and non-hazardous

chemical residues into chemical products, clean fuels, and energy – is moving its
headquarters to Florida later this year. InEnTec Chemical’s parent company, InEnTec, willremain in Bend. Portland Business Journal, 8-5-09

Fuddruckers restaurant will open in Hermiston in May. It will include an 18-hole miniature golf course. Hermiston Herald, 8-26-09

McMenamins Hotels, Pubs & Breweries will proceed with its Crystal Hotel project at a former bath house, hotel, and reputed gangster hangout in southwest Portland. It is slated to open this winter and
will link with two McMenamins facilities in the neighborhood, Ringlers Annex Pub and the Crystal Ballroom. Portland Business Journal, 8-7-09

Manufactured homes producer Fleetwood Enterprises sold a portion of its assets including its Woodburn facility to Phoenix, Ariz.-based Cavco Industries, Inc. and its investment partner Third Avenue Trust Value Fund. The plant will remain open, averting the layoff of up to 89 workers. Woodburn Independent, 8-27-09
