June's unemployment rates for all of Oregon's counties were released today. They ranged from a high of 22.6 percent in Crook County to 7.7 percent in Gilliam County.
In May, Crook's unemployment rate was 20.5 percent, and this increase of 2.1 percentage points over the month was the largest increase of any Oregon county. The only other county with a large increase was Grant (13.8% in May to 14.5% in June).
Most counties actually saw a decline from May to June in their UR. By far the largest drop was in Morrow County, which went from 14.0 percent down to 10.0 percent. The other declines were 1.5 percentage points or less.
While no county had exactly the same UR in May and June, eight counties had only very minor changes.
