Over-the-Year Employment Growth in Metro Areas Led by Bend

From February 2013 to February 2014, Bend (+3.1%) led employment growth in Oregon's metro areas.  Bend was the only metro area that grew faster than Oregon as a whole. Medford grew the slowest at a rate of 0.6 percent.



A few other numbers from this month:

  • Benton County had the lowest unemployment for the month (+5.3%).  Harney County had the highest (+11.6%).
  • The number of unemployed persons increased by about 3,500 over the month, but decreased by about 22,700 over the year.
  • Construction (+9.5%) grew faster than any other industry in Oregon from February 2013 to February 2014.
